Boavista
Boavista
The famous “islands” of the city still coexist today alongside modern and contemporary buildings. Avenues and large buildings contrast with narrow streets and small houses. The 19th-century Agramonte Cemetery is fully integrated into the landscape for any local resident, and it is unimaginable to think of the Boavista area without its striking and historic presence. If we look at Boavista Avenue, we see bourgeois houses from the 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as large modern buildings from the 21st century. There is no homogeneity; we are confronted with a mixture that characterizes Porto.
